A Bad Think is a Virginia Beach band driven by the many talents of Michael Marquart, one-man wonder and former drummer for British Grammy Award winning band A Flock of Seagulls. Simple Rhymes is his sophomore solo venture—following a self-titled release in 2006—and is delightfully produced much like the first, a cathartic afterglow of an album through which the listener can directly sense Marquart’s serene triumph over life’s trials. Marquart is a survivor, and his humility and positive acceptance of life as it is is precisely what is most endearing in his tracks—his music is pensive, his lyrics meant to be carefully considered. Embedded in the simplicity of Simple Rhymes’ melodies is the wisdom of his vocals and intensity of feeling manifest in the layered guitars. Simple Rhymes gracefully displays Marquart’s musical growth over the last few years; still intricately produced, Simple Rhymes promises a wider stylistic range that will be greatly appealing to many audiences in need of spiritual repose.

In addition to A Flock of Seagulls, Marquart has performed and worked with many outstanding artists including No Doubt, The Connells, Abra Moore, Sponge, Buffalo Tom, Frente, Love Spit Love, The Nixons and Dishwalla. “On My Own” from A Bad Think’s last album is nominated for the 2010 eWorld Music Awards (formerly Hollywood Music Awards). Supporting the musical stylings of A Bad Think is Marquart's long-time friend, funk & jazz bassist extraordinaire, Don Burford and Marquart's daughter, Samantha Marquart--a multi-talented singer/songwriter whose beautifully lush voice only enhances the aural experience of A Bad Think. .
