H is Orange, the mysterious and frequently misunderstood band name, sprung from a condition lead singer Sam Nelson has and holds as his first memory– he sees words and letters in color. For the band, the name has to do with always looking at things from a different perspective and in a new way. The LA-based rock band is best known for their relentlessly powerful live shows and compelling sound. With comparisons to acts like A Perfect Circle, Breaking Benjamin and 30 Seconds To Mars, H is Orange balances energy with unique melodies to get crowds on their feet. Originally formed in 2001, the group drew immediate attention to itself as the band to watch after only a few gigs in and around their native Los Angeles. H is Orange spent the next few years touring nationally, playing such coveted venues as CBGB's and festivals like the Vans Warped Tour, culminating in 2004 with their debut full-length "Don't Trust The Easy”. The album was subsequently nominated by All Access Magazine as Album of the Year. This band H is Orange consists of Sam Nelson on vocals, Troy Brittain on guitar, Marcel Blanco on bass; with new members David Iscove on guitar and Rich Abagon on drums. Sam is the youngest member of the famous Nelson family (grandparents - Ozzie & Harriet, father - Rick, and brothers - Matthew and Gunnar). Working with producer Enoch Jensen (Boysetsfire, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus), H is Orange dug deep to capture the energy that they are so well known for, and evolved their songwriting in a new modern sound. The result is the band’s highly anticipated album, Thrill Of Escape. The first single, "Nothing All the Time”, will be available as downloadable content on Guitar Hero starting August 13th 2009. It is clear that with the release of the new album, H is Orange has taken several big steps forward on a journey that has just begun. .
