Kola-Beldy (real name: Nikolay Ivanovich Beldy) (May, 2 1929 - December, 21 1993) - famous Soviet, Russian singer of Nanai heritage was extremely popular during 50-80s. He was born in a small village in Habarovsk region, near Soviet-Chinese border in the family of a hunter. His parents died early. Kola-Beldy grew up in an orphan asylume, from where he escaped during WWII. Served on a military ship in Pacific as a shipboy. Graduated a musical college, worked in different military bands. In 1957 Kola-Beldy becomes a laureate of a World Students and Youth Festival. He is invited to Moscow and in 1960 he ecomes a laureate of All-Russian Artiste contest.

1972-73 became peak years of his career. His most popular song "I'll take you to the tundra" has won "Song of the year" contest on August, 25, 1973 this song together with "Nature sings" brings him a second prize of Sopot popular song contest (Poland).

All in all Kola-Beldy has recorded 7 LPs. .
