Тартак ([tɑr'tɑk]) is a popular rapcore, punk rock and hip-hop crossover band from Ukraine. They mix these styles to produce energetic compositions and lyrics.

Oleksandr (Sashko) Polozhynskyj and Vasyl Zinkevytch junior founded the group in the autumn of 1996 in Lutsk, Ukraine.

The band was named by Sashko."Тартак" means woodsaw in Ukrainian. Sashko thought that "тартак" symbolized something energetic, loud, active, and hence appropriate for a band name.

The group has released more than six albums.
Тартак songs: Ні, я не ту кохав ([Ni Ja Ne Tu Kohav] - "But I loved another girl") and Стільникове кохання ([Stilnykove Kohannja] - "Mobile love") stayed on Top40 charts for 144 days and 75 days respectively.

Тартак was one of the bands that performed during the events of the Orange Revolution.
