LOVE PSYCHEDELICO is a Japanese band, widely known in Hong Kong, Japan and Taiwan. The band was formed in 1997 by singer Kumi (born April 11, 1976 in Chiba Prefecture) and guitarist Naoki Sato (born July 21, 1973 in Shizuoka Prefecture), while studying at Aoyama Gakuin University, Tokyo. They signed with label Victor in 1999. Their first album, The Greatest Hits, sold over two million copies. Their second album Love Psychedelic Orchestra, released in January 2001, sold 690,000 copies. Psycho le Cému are: Daishi (vocals), Lida (guitar), Aya (guitar), seek (bass) and YURA-sama (drums). Formed in 1999, their musical style started off as dark, melodic pop. In more recent years their style has become lighter and more colourful. They are strongly influenced by anime and dress up as characters from various anime series and videogames. In 2005 they announced they would be going on hiatus as Daishi was convicted of drug-use. At present all band members are pursuing side-projects. Psychic TV is a video art and music group that primarily performs psychedelic, electronic, punk and experimental music. The band was formed by performance artist Genesis P-Orridge and video director Peter Christopherson (after the break up of Throbbing Gristle) together with musician and producer Alex Fergusson (ex-Alternative TV). Christopherson left to form Coil with fellow PTV member John Balance around 1984, and Fergusson left in 1987, leaving P-Orridge in charge of a rotating band lineup. A sweet psychedelic set, but one with very mysterious origins -- originally recorded as a sound library session, by a group that was really the better-known Nuova Idea! The album's definitely got a vibe that fits its sound library roots -- all instrumental, with a bit less bravado than most psyche albums of this type -- almost more of a focus on the rhythms, which stretch out strongly amidst the Hammond and guitar solos on the set.
