Saija Varjus (b. 30 January 1965 in Parkano) is a Finnish popular musician. She was chosen the "Tango Queen" 1996 in the Tangomarkkinat festival in Seinäjoki. This was her second attempt: she had competed in 1993 but only reached as far as the semifinal. Varjus had previously worked as a teacher. Her most famous recordings include "Dam dam da da di dum" (1997), "Vastatuuleen" (1998), "Kuiskaten" (2002) and "Ihana aamu" (2002). On January 1998, Saija Varjus was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. On 13 October 2007, she married the guitarist Petri Hämäläinen. .
Pekka Juhani ”Pave” Maijanen (born September 3, 1950, in Lappeenranta, Finland) is a well-known Finnish musician who has a long career with stints as singer, lyricist, bassist, drummer, guitarist, and producer. In addition to his solo career, Maijanen has taken part in the groups the Royals, Rock'n'Roll Band, Pepe & Paradise, and also as the keyboardist-producer for Dingo and Hurriganes. Maijanen's first job was as producer of the Wigwam's Nuclear Night Club album. .
Kaija Saariaho (born October 14 1952 in Helsinki) is a Finnish composer. For 13 years Saariaho attended the Helsinki Rudolf Steiner School, a school with a strong arts and music curriculum, and studied violin and piano at the Sibelius Academy. She later studied composition in Freiburg (under Brian Ferneyhough and Klaus Huber) and at IRCAM in Paris, where she has lived since 1982.
