Born in the dense heat of New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, Belong is a collaborative effort between Turk Dietrich and Michael Jones, whose debut album, "October Language", goes beyond traditional song structure to a place where melodic figures blur, and textures are gorgeously sculpted into an ocean of sound. Belong began on the WestBank of New Orleans in 2002, but it was not until 2004 that "October Language" was made. The album was assembled, composed, and produced in Dietrich's bedroom studio; however, the inspiration for the songs goes well beyond the walls. The album encapsulates their hometown of New Orleans,...
1) Beloved (US): Beloved was an American post-hardcore band from Greensboro and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Beloved recorded and released their debut EP, The Running (on the now defunct Vindicated Records), when they were only in their teens (Josh was only 16 at the time of recording). They caught the attention of Solid State Records and shifted their sound towards melodic hardcore while retaining the emo influences of their youth. In 2003 they released their debut full-length, Failure On. In 2004, drummer Joe Musten got married, and determined that it would not be possible to continue to tour with the band....
VISIT http://www.bulgarianmusic.net Beloslava is one of the most successful jazz and blues singers in Bulgaria. Her debut album "Ulici" (aka "Streets") was released in 2001. Four years later (2005) came her second album - "Slushai me" (aka "Listen to me"), which leaded the music charts in Bulgaria for that period. Although her music is known as jazz/blues/R&B she also takes part in several songs of famous bulgarian rap singers. .
Originally a quartet whose sound drew inspiration from psychedelia, the Beloved found its greatest success as a rave-influenced dance-pop duo. Throughout its fluid existence, the guiding force behind the group remained vocalist Jon Marsh, who formed the band Journey Through in Cambridge, UK with Steve Waddington and Tim Havard; with the addition of Guy Gausden (November 1984), the group renamed itself the Beloved, and gradually evolved into a moody dance outfit not dissimilar to New Order. In 1986, The Beloved issued their first single, "A Hundred Words" a series of releases (including the EP Happy Now, the double A-sided single...
In the Valley Below exist at an intersection of traditional Americana folk and blues and postmodernly intellectual art pop. They don’t sound like they’re from Mars… but they certainly seem to be aggressively refusing to fit into any genre. And in terms of subject matter, they would seem to take cues from both Genet and The Bible. - Izzy Cihak, Philthy Magazine .
