The oldest surviving Jewish (Yiddish) theatre in Europe--In 1994 celebrated its 120th birthday. Romania is a wonderful country with the distinction of having one of the oldest Jewish settlements in Europe. Now a somewhat diminished community, courtesy of the Nazis and their little band of local Fascists, the Iron Guard.

Benoît Charest was born in 1964 in Canada. He is a composer and guitarist, best known for his original soundtrack for the animation film "Les Triplettes de Belleville" in 2003, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for the title song. .
