Dirk Darmstaedter (born Febuary 1965) is a North German musician/songwriter and former lead singer of the 1990’s band The Jeremy Days, one of Germanys seminal Indie Pop Bands of their time. Working with reknown producers such as Langer/Winstanley (Madness, Dexy’s, David Bowie, etc.) and Fred Maher (Lloyd Cole, Lou Reed, etc.) the band went on to create five genre-defining albums (check out: „Circushead“ ) Dirk founded Tapete Records in 2002, now one of Germanys finest Indie Labels. Dirk Patrick Michaelis (* 26. November 1961 in Karl-Marx-Stadt) ist ein deutscher Sänger und Komponist. Von 1984 bis 1991 war er der Frontmann der DDR-Rockband Karussell. Als sein bekanntestes Lied gilt „Als ich fortging“. Nachdem er eine Ausbildung zum Maurer anfing, besuchte er Unterrichtsstunden in der Musikschule und reiste seit 1980 als Amateurmusiker durch die Republik (DDR). Seinen Lebensunterhalt bestritt er in dieser Zeit unter anderem als Krankenpfleger und Kindergärtner.
