Jesus Culture began in the summer of 1999, when the youth group at Bethel Church in Redding, California, led by Banning Liebscher, launched the first Jesus Culture conference. During this time they began leading worship at Jesus Culture conferences both nationally and internationally and thus the Jesus Culture band was formed. The band consists of Kim Walker-Smith (Vocals) and Chris Quilala (Vocals and Guitar) as worship leaders along with Jeffrey Kunde (Lead Guitar), Brandon Aaronson (Bass), Ian McIntosh (Keys) and Josh Fisher (Drums). The ministry has been called "one of the most significant Christian movements in post-war America". They released...
Culture Club was a popular 1980s pop group, perhaps most noticeable for their gender-bending frontman Boy George. The other members of the band were Roy Hay on guitars and keyboards, Mikey Craig playing bass and Jon Moss (ex Damned, London, Adam and the Ants) on drums. Their first album, 1982's Kissing to Be Clever, became a major international hit, spawning the hit singles "Do You Really Want to Hurt Me" (which went 'all the way' in the BBC-Charts in late 1982), "Time (Clock of the Heart)", and "I'll Tumble 4 Ya". Unique in his eccentric manner of dress and androgynous...
Feargal Sharkey (born Sean Feargal Sharkey on 13 August 1958, in Derry, Northern Ireland, UK) is a singer who first found fame as the lead vocalist of pop punk band The Undertones (1975), famous for the hit single "Teenage Kicks". Before his actual solo career took off, he was also the singer of the one-shot group The Assembly, with the ex-Yazoo supremo Vince Clarke in 1983 (with their UK singles chart number 4 hit, "Never Never"). His best-known solo material is the 1985 UK chart-topping single penned by Maria McKee, "A Good Heart", which went to number one in several...
Tears for Fears, named after a phrase found in Arthur Janov's book Prisoners of Pain, is a British pop/rock outfit formed in 1981 in Bath, England. Founder members Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith had been friends since their early teens and had already been in the shortlived ska band Graduate. Initially associated with the new wave and synthesiser bands of the early 1980s, Tears For Fears' earlier work, as evidenced on their 1983 debut album The Hurting , was explicitly based around the emotional angst of adolescence. The album reached number one in the UK and contained three UK Top...
