Sonore is the collaborative project of Ken Vandermark, Mats Gustafsson and Peter Brötzmann, formed in October 2003. The trio was organized to investigate the melodic, rhythmic and textural possibilities of freely improvised music. .

Sonores is three people: Elisabet, Viktor and Jonas. Elisabet does the vocals, Viktor handles the electronics and Jonas composes the music and plays most of the instruments. They also enlist the contributions of their many friends. Sonores has been playing together for three years, but has never been all that active. Viktor and Jonas founded the band and added Elisabet when they decided they wanted a singer. After that, they took in Martin Holmgren on upright bass, but he later left the band citing lack of time.
