Glenn Alan Medeiros (born 24 June 1970) is a singer and songwriter of Portuguese ancestry from the state of Hawai'i. From humble beginnings performing on a tour bus on the island of Kauai, Medeiros's musical career soared. He is best known for his rendition of George Benson's "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You" which was #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1987, and #1 in the UK Singles Chart as well as in France, Germany and Holland. The Extra Glenns are a band made up of Franklin Bruno of Nothing Painted Blue and John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats. They were something of an underground legend in the 90's, recording tracks for singles and some compilations. Both artists however started concentrating on their own solo work, though as their popularity grew they continued to work together when possible. A show at the 2000 San Francisco Noise Pop Festival found an unexpected crowd in attendance with exceeding interest with fans coming from as far away as New York just for the Extra Glenns. They decided then that it...
Glenn Tilbrook (born Glenn Martin Tilbrook, on 31 August 1957, in Woolwich, South East London) is the lead singer, and guitarist of the English group Squeeze, a power pop band formed in the mid-1970s. Glenn generally wrote the music for Squeeze, while his writing partner, Chris Difford, wrote the lyrics. Over the duration of Squeeze's first hiatus, from approximately 1983 to 1985, Tilbrook wrote, recorded, and toured with Difford as an act called Difford & Tilbrook. Since Squeeze's second breakup in 1999 (they reformed in 2007 for a series of shows, possibly not permanently), Glenn has pursued a solo career,...
The Joe Locke / Geoffrey Keezer Group The unique combination of vibraphone and piano creates a space much larger than the sum of its parts -- one in which these two brilliant improvisers and clever accompanists can really get down to work. When Locke lays down the full, ringing tones of his vibraphone, Keezer takes off at full throttle; and when Keezer's sophisticated spatial sense launches chords, Locke works his four mallets with fiery skill. Even when navigating tricky chord progressions at rocket speeds, they never lose their deep sense of swing. .
