نیاز (Niyaz) is a musical trio based in Los Angeles, CA, USA. The group was created in 2005 by DJ, programmer/producer and remixer Carmen Rizzo, Iranian vocalist and hammered dulcimer player Azam Ali, formerly of the group Vas, and Loga Ramin Torkian of the Iranian crossover group Axiom of Choice. Niyaz is a Persian and Urdu word meaning "yearning". Niyaz's music, described as "mystical music with a modern edge", is primarily a blend of Sufi mysticism and electronica. Keidran Jones (born 1987, in Tortola, British Virgin Islands), better known by the stage name Iyaz, is a Caribbean pop/rnb singer and rapper signed to Beluga Heights Records. Niyazi Sayın (born 1927) is a Turkish musician - playing the ney in Turkish classical music - and music educator. Sayın was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and was a pupil of Halil Dikmen. He has been a long-time musical partner of tanbur player Necdet Yaşar. .
