Mansion Accompaniment Tracks | en

Arguably the most underrated of all of the early 90s rock acts, Fatima Mansions were a refreshing kick up the backside against corporate mediocrity and musical banality - steered from start to finish by the singular vision of one man's astute and unwavering misanthropy. In a state of disillusionment, Cathal Coughlan walked out of the wonderful and melodically rich - but lyrically barbed - Microdisney and formed the Fatima Mansions, setting up stall in 1989. His former Microdisney partner, Sean O'Hagan, went off to form the High Llamas and perfected his obsession with 'Smile'-era Beach Boys drenched tunefulness but Cathal...
Title Tracks emerged in mid-2008 from the still-smoldering ashes of Georgie James. After years of co-writing songs with Q And Not U, Georgie James and others, John Davis began to focus his energy exclusively on solo material. On the Title Tracks debut single, "Every Little Bit Hurts", John displays an almost scientific approach to song-writing. Bits and pieces and diverse influences culled from such wells as; a holy-grail-stocked record collection; a moonlighting gig as a radio disc jockey; and more than a decade of touring and recording in the US, Europe and beyond, have all served to hone John's musical...
Epic Soundtracks was the stage name of Kevin Paul Godfrey (23 March 1959 - 5 November, 1997), who was a British musician. He was brought up in Solihull, Midlands with his brother Adrian Nicholas, who was known as Nikki Sudden (1956 - 2006). In 1972 Kevin and Nicholas formed the nucleus of what was to become the post-punk rock group Swell Maps, with "Epic" on drums and piano, and "Nikki" on guitar and vocals. Epic later drummed for Crime and the City Solution and These Immortal Souls. As a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist he released three critically acclaimed solo albums and...
Since the critically acclaimed Worldwide success of their second release New Kids Rock The Block, KiT now officially rule the world. “(K)iT all started around ‘04 when a couple of kids got too bored/lazy to go out on their skateboards anymore and decided to stay indoors with their Wu-tang records, making beats, dj-ing and eating toast. The two Kids in question are DJ Snigger aka Andy Hemsley aka The Fresh Prints (hip-hop governor /DJ/turntablist) and Homey aka Lone aka Matt Cutler (drum surgeon/sample geek). Matt sent minidiscs of his beats to Andy for scratch over-dubs and Kids in Tracksuits was...
“Like a snapshot taken at twilight, their music is a photograph of a landscape caught at perpetual dusk.” This is an apt observation one critic made of Palaxy Tracks’ last record, which he also called “a plaintive little collection of songs that grows increasingly addictive the more times you listen to it.” A quick glance through the band’s press kit reveals similar praise from many other critics who share this sentiment. Palaxy Tracks’ distinctively subtle songwriting and expansive, somber guitar rock perfectly conveys a sense of loss and longing, evoking images of ghosts, memories, empty rooms and endless open roads....
