Fong Naam is a Thai ensemble, founded in 1983 by Buyong Ketkhong and his student Bruce Gaston with the aim of introducing classical and traditional Thai music to Thai and foreign audiences. The ensemble is named after the first traditional piece it performed in public -- an ancient melody once performed to accompany the offering of food to monks, whose title means "bubble" or "sponge". While maintaining contemporary classical traditions, the ensemble has also revitalised and recorded historic ensembles, repertoires, and instruments and has blazed the trail for contemporary and collaborative modern neoclassical and intercultural Thai composition. .
The band started in 1996, in one of Warsaw highschools, as Melankolia. In the beginning they experienced usual line-up changes and some "accidental" gigs. They also recorded a few tracks, which were included in a soundtrack to a play by "Goodbye Blue Monday" theatre. One of their songs was also put on "Metal Against Racial Prejudice" compilation. Singer Without Name) was born as Mary Servaes in Leiden, The Netherlands on 5 Augustus 1919 and died on 23 October 1998 was a Dutch singer who recorded more than 500 songs. In the late 1950's she came to the attention of Dutch record-producer and songwriter Johnny Hoes.
