Phreek was a studio group produced by Patrick Adams in 1978. Phreek hit it big with "Weekend" which has been covered by Class Action and Todd Terry and continues to be a popular club hit. Although Adams released many commercial studio acts in the late 70s, Phreek is certainly one of his best works. The album is solid all the way through. .
The three Italian stallions Ivan Savoldi, Alessandro Cattanatto and Giovanni Guerretti are deeply influenced by the Cosmic Sound of the late 70s and early 80s. But they manage to apply those old vibes to a modern deep house template in a virtuoso way, making their sound equally comfortable with the past and the present. .
