In 1985, when vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Walter Salas-Humara recorded a handful of tunes with the help of a dozen and a half friends and collected the songs under the title About Her Steps, he probably wasn't thinking that it was the start of a career in music that's now approaching 20 years and still going strong. No, at that point, he was too busy thinking about, among other things, names. Originating from Mexico City, Juan Pablo Valle, 30, was better known as Dr. Electro when he was part of the first mexican hardcore collective called Gabbermex at the beginning of this decade. After producing hardcore techno, he decided to move to the hypnotic sounds of progressive trance with his project Electronik Brain Stimulation. With Epsilon Eridani, he is producing both ambient and dark ambient, sampling sounds from everything and modifying them by pitching or time stretching, and adding some warm or dark melodies to his compositions.
