Strašlivá podívaná was founded in 1988 in Plzeň (Pilsen). After a few years of searching for "the best" music style they play folk music with historical elements of medieval, Gypsy, Irish or Jewish music. Lyrics are often inspired by historic events or fantasy world. The group have won several genre awards (for example Porta 2002 and 2009) and released 4 CDs. Strašlivá podívaná often plays at various city / historical festivals.
