In the Valley Below exist at an intersection of traditional Americana folk and blues and postmodernly intellectual art pop. They don’t sound like they’re from Mars… but they certainly seem to be aggressively refusing to fit into any genre. And in terms of subject matter, they would seem to take cues from both Genet and The Bible. - Izzy Cihak, Philthy Magazine .
There are at least two bands that go by the name The Great Valley. 1) Great Valley is a lo-fi "pretend-pop" band, based in Brattleboro, Vermont and comprised from members of Peter's WIndow, Big French, Punks on Mars, and Blanche Blanche Blanche. Formed in 2007, they released their first full length in mid 2008. Their latest LP release, CONTINENTAL LUNCH, was released in 2013 on Feeding Tube Records. Other releases can be downloaded for free from their bandcamp, and physical copies are available through tape label Spooky Town Records, run by guitarist/ lead vocalist Peter Nichols. 2) Pop punk band...
There is a smoldering hotbed of Rock and Roll in the most unlikely of places; Ohio. Some time ago, the Devil came to sew his seed throughout the state leaving every city with it's own High Priests of Hellish Riffs. The congregation of Cincinnati's Church of Rock and Roll is watched over by Valley of the Sun, and a well tended flock they are. Riff after righteous riff is thrown from the pulpit with the fury of fire and brimstone, so come out to the Rock and Roll Revival, bring your offering and prepare to be anointed! .

In 1998, Langford enlisted the help of a number of prominent alt-country musicians (including Neko Case, Alejandro Escovedo, and Robbie Fulks) for a full-length tribute album to Bob Wills. Their second LP, The Executioner's Last Songs, was released in 2002 and is a collection of songs...
The Lonesome Valley Singers are an odd bunch. Mixing Folk, Roots, Pop tapered with an early punk upbringing they bring a truly original sound to center stage, with the muse of a wrecked mind, apocalyptic visions and a heart worn on the sleeve so long it's gotten dirty and misshapen. Led by “misfit fiend turned haggard crooner” David Chenery, David spent his formative years in Summerland BC vandalizing private property and recording obscure home recordings of his various punk outfits until his 1999 departure to Victoria BC where he became immersed in the Victoria music scene, discovering the likes of...
