Demdike Stare is the occult project of Miles Whittaker and Sean Canty. Miles is also known as Modern Love's DJ MLZ or as one half of Pendle Coven. Sean Canty is the dedicated digger behind the Haxan events and a member of the respected Finders Keepers crew of vinyl vultures. The duo's collaborative project tracks the sonic ley lines of cult soundtracks, Arabesque dubs and psychotomimetic ephemera with a proper Lancastrian twist. Idiot Stare are an "Industrial" act from Los Angeles, USA. Idiot Stare's origins go back to their former incarnation STG in 1989. Formed in 1994, Idiot Stare spent the 90's recording their first two albums, "Blinded" and "The Hate Cage." During this time members contributed songs to over 20 compilations and lent their producing talents to various recordings and remixes for other bands in the genre. Idiot Stare re-emerged in the fall of 2001 combining the musical talents of the original Idiot Stare, with the dynamics of Insight 23. .

There are at least three artists called Stare: 1) Stare aka Crescent is a Drum and Bass producer from Tallinn, Estonia. At first he often produced with his partner Phibbs and had releases on DSCI4 and Blindside. In this time period his style could be described as Neurofunk. Later he turned to the groovy, soulful side of DnB and he released Liquid tunes for labels such as Renegade Recordings, Phunkfiction and shadybrain.net. 2) Stare was a gothic rock project active between 1998 and 2001.
