Chromatics are an electronic band based in Portland, Oregon, United States. The band consists of Ruth Radelet (vocals, guitar, synthesizer), Adam Miller (guitar), Johnny Jewel (synthesizer, production) and Nat Walker (drums, synthesizer). The band shifted from a post-punk sound to one inspired by 1980s synthpop and Italo disco around 2006; Miller is the only member who remains from the original incarnation of the band, although the lineup has been relatively consistent since their change in musical direction. A native of New Jersey, Voli grew up with an affinity for the arts. Getting his musical start as a rapper, Voli honed his lyricism while internalizing the tastes of his favorite producers of the era. Voli focused on rapping for several years before deciding to shelf his lyrical talents in order to cultivate his production. There is more then one artist with this name. 1) Volition, the band, was founded by Mark Burns (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals), Mark Burnett (Guitar) & James Doyle (Drums) in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, England.
