From San Francisco, The Ivytree is the solo project of Glenn Donaldson, who is a founder member of The Jewelled Antler Collective – which exists as both a label (specializing in beautifully-packaged, made-to-order CDR pressings) and a coterie of mainly-Californian avant folk / improvisation / psychedelic ensembles. Amongst these, Donaldson also operates under the guise of The Birdtree, as well as playing in groups like The Knit Separates, Thuja, The Blithe Sons and The Skygreen Leopards. Beyond a shifting, shared membership, what unites many of these outfits is an organic, intuitive approach to music making, as well as an interest...
"Skytree is Evan Snyder from Minnesota, USA. He started recording music at the age of 15, after the loan of a beaten Tascam tape deck cracked open the world of multi-track recording. Rough mix tapes followed, looping degraded swatches of guitar and keys over cheap drum machines. The Skytree name found its way onto mixes by accident, yet remained, suggesting a sound both old and new, at once rooted in the Earth and lost in the clouds. In the years hence, the Skytree name has appeared on half a dozen EPs and albums through several labels, compilations shared with the...
Signed to: Sotones Moneytree are one of those bands who keep changing, constantly evolving their sound. Asking them they would tell you they are just a rock band but they are far more exciting, easily crossing the border between indie and more intricate alternative rock. Their live shows have quickly gaining a reputation for being high powered and energetic whilst priding themselves on being accomplished and engaging. Based somewhere between London, Brighton and Southampton they have plenty of friends in other bands you might recognise, collaborating with members of Band Of Skulls, The Mystery Jets, The Holloways, Mumford and Sons,...

She became a drug addict and one summer in 1970 she met some Jesus People at her sister's art school, and became one herself. After graduating, she worked at a youth ministry in Ft. Wayne, Indiana called Adams Apple, a part of the Jesus movement, and it was during these years that she began to write songs about her Christianity, recording her self-titled first album in 1973. [1] Her folk rock style was...
Ytre Suløens Jass-ensemble I It was in the year 1973, that six musicans from the small island Sula by the northwest coast of Norway came together to form a jazzband. This was the start of Ytre Suloens Jass.ensemble.The intention was to play for own pleasure – and maybe also for the neighbourhood. From the very start was New Orleans Jazz the inspiration, and through all the years gone, it still is the foundation in the band`s musical style. But, a certain lack of respect for ”tradition” in the meaning of copying, together with a strong will of experimenting and breaking...
