Zanzibar is a hungarian pop-rock formation, founded in 1999 in Cegléd. Their music is a mixture of energic pop, rock, and a bit of electronic. Members are Terecskei Rita (lead vocals), Sidlovics Gábor József (Sidi, guitar), Steklács Miklós (bass), Kovács András (Doni, drums). The fifth founding member, Nagy Gábor (Gabszi, guitar, vocals) left the band in 2009. They won many awards in different Hungarian award ceremonies including Best Newcomer, Best Rock Album, Best Rock Band. Their albums: Nem vagyok tökéletes (2001 - I'm not perfect) Ugyanaz vagyok (2002 - I'm the same) Az igazi nevem (2004 - My real name)...

Lusty Zanzibar started out as Z plan many years ago on Holistic records and after a long break and a crash course in new technology, Alex Cordiner re named the band as Lusty Zanzibar. After sending out a few demo's, they had their first release "For my Friends" on Bear Funk. Since then Lusty Zanzibar have been busy working on remix's and a new project with singer Billie Ray Martin called The Crackdown Project which will be released in two parts on the 15th of Feb and the 15th of march.
