Axis of Advance was a black/death metal band from Canada which formed in 1998 and disbanded in October of 2008. They are often referred to as "war metal" due to their lyrical themes. Before that they were known as Sacramentary Abolishment until their drummer Paulus Kressman left the band. Their latest release is a miniCD entitled Purify, released by Osmose Productions. The band consist of three members: Guitarist/vocalist Wör, Bassist/vocalist Vermin, and Drummer J.Read, who is classified as a session member despite his position being apparently permanent. The Bridewell Taxis (later The Bridewells) were a Leeds-based British rock group formed in 1988. After a flexi-disc "Lies", their first EP, Just Good Friends, released in 1989, reached number 18 on the UK Indie Chart. The band were often compared to Madchester bands such as Happy Mondays, and had a support slots for Inspiral Carpets, Happy Mondays, and Stone Roses. This was followed by a series of EPs through 1990 and 1991, including a cover of Blue Öyster Cult's "Don't Fear The Reaper". They recorded a session for John Peel's BBC Radio One show in 1990. Paraxism was a death metal band from Jyväskylä, Finland, formed in 1990. Their sound has many bizarre influences from psychedelia that add a melodic twist to their music. They split-up in 1998. .
