Русичи ("Rusiči") is a Russian folk ensemble. The group was founded in 1980 and consists of six members: Alexandr Derjabin, Vladimir Jakovskij, Andrej Senin, Valentin Zhigalin, Vladimir Toptsov and Vitalij Galičkij, who is also the leader of the group. The group performs both authentic Russian folk music and improvisational music based on Russian folk music. The group uses authentic folk instruments, many of which the group had to reconstruct on its own. The group also uses authentic folk costumes in its performances, which include ritual dances, duels and scenes from Russian folk life in addition to the musical performance. One...
