Vyacheslav Petrovich Artyomov, (Russian: Вячеслав Петрович Артёмов; born June 29 1940) is a Russian composer. Artyomov first studied physics at the Moscow University, then moved to music. He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1968 where studied composition with Nikolai Sidelnikov. He became a member of the Union of Composers and ACM - Association for Contemporary Music. He was active as an editor at the Moscow publishers "Musyka" for several years. In 1975 he joined the improvisation group Astreja together with the composers Sofia Gubaidulina and Viktor Suslin.
