Music as a tag is used to help people distinguish the pieces of sound they are listening to from other non-musical sounds. Music is the most common form of sound 21st century listeners choose to hear, closely followed by the sounds other people make, primarily in a style identifiable as "talking" or "spoken word" (NB: sometimes talking can qualify as music, please consult your local musicologist if in doubt). Trickier still to classify are the patterns of sound denoted as anti-music and post-music, which may or may not be noise, which may or may not be music. .
