The first artist to be tagged was Grup Tekkan soon followed by DJ Tiesto, though, the original tagger refused to use the "tag this artist" button because he didn't consider him an artist. But over the time the tag evolved and it became somewhat of an inside joke to make up myths about ponyrape. Some of them could be seen on the page of the (now banned) user ponyrape and the sadly deleted group of ponyrape At one point it was decided: ponyrape is all, and ponyrape is nothing. Every artist with bizarre or funny names was tagged with ponyrape it evolved further, everything should be tagged with ponyrape. Nowadays ponyrape is associated with trolls and spammers. And among them it is considered as awesome. ponyrape was declared dead by its creators for real in 2008, though it actually died before that. .
