There are at least six bands named Chopper. 1.) Chopper was a Connecticut-based power pop band formed in 1989 by guitarist/songwriter Steven Deal (Bleached Black), bassist Dean McNulty, and drummer Furgis Allen. Guitarist Robert Dietrich was added before the release of the band's self-titled 1991 CD, and Nick Appleby soon replaced Dean McNulty on bass. (Steven Deal and Nick Appleby later formed The Absolute Zeros.) Bad Chopper was formed by CJ, Mark & John Chadwick in Long Island, NY in June 2000. Originally called the Warm Jets, they recorded and released one single (She Says b/w Diabla) under this name. Brian was added on second guitar soon after. This line-up played the NY area through 2000-2001. In mid-2001 they changed their name to Bad Chopper to avoid confusion with the UK band with the same name. A South American tour was booked for September 2001. John Chadwick could not be present so Mark (originally the drummer) filled in on guitar and John Evicci filled in...
Chopper One was formed by guitarist Jason Cropper with his wife Amy after he left Weezer in 1993. The band released an indie single in 1995, followed by their debut album Now Playing in 1997. The disc was reissued as Chopper One, backed by a new line-up of the band, the following year. Chopper One disbanded circa 1999. Cropper has continued various writing, recording, and production projects. (Copied from Weezerpedia, January 2011) .

His debut, self-released album, Chop is 13 tracks of high-plains-via-East-London fretboard wrangling and heartfelt rockabilly stomp while his rich and astonishingly versatile baritone gives the album it’s soaring range. The story of Chop’s making reads like a great unwritten Hollywood screenplay. Ben holed-up to...
