White Sister was one of those bands that never quite achieved the success it deserved. Despite being signed to a major label, working with a well-known producer and writing songs that bettered their more well-known peers on more than one occasion, vocalist/bassist Dennis Churchill-Dries and company struggled to keep their heads above water throughout most of the Eighties. Soulsister is a Belgian music band consisting of musicians Jan Leyers and Paul Michiels. SoulSister (also known as the Soul Sisters and Leyers, Michiels, and SoulSister) ran from 1986 until 1995 and performed a mix of pop and soul. They will reunite at The Night of the Proms in 2007. Jan Leyers had previous experience in the rock group Beri-Beri, while Paul had experience in the British-Belgian rock group Octopus and as a solo artist. Sister Hazel formed in Gainesville, Florida in 1994 and was named for Sister Hazel Williams, a local nun who ran a homeless shelter. The group released its self-titled debut album in 1994 through its independent record label, Croakin' Poets and shortly after its release, singer/guitarist Ryan Newell and drummer Mark Trojanowski joined the band. Newell played on the album before officially joining the group. Twisted Sister is an American heavy metal band from Long Island, New York, United States popularized in comedic music videos on the television channel MTV in the 80s.
