Although his elder sibling's fame may threaten to outshine his own accomplishments, singer/songwriter Andy Yorke (whose brother, Thom Yorke, found international success with Radiohead) is a competent musician in his own right. Born in 1972, he first rose to prominence with Unbelievable Truth, a Brit-pop band that enjoyed a brief stay on the U.K. charts during the late '90s. The group issued its final album in 2000, after which point Yorke returned to college and began making preparations for a solo career. Simple, his first solo effort, arrived in 2008 .
Call Me Loretta is an up-and-coming band from Toulouse, France. The group first started when Stéphanie (vocals, guitar) and Sébastien (guitar, vocals) began to play together. They were joined late 2000 by Delphine (bass) and Matthieu (drums). Since then, they have been carrying on between Toulouse and Paris, gaining experience from numerous live performances. Call Me Loretta has gradually expanded its repertoire of original songs in which melodies are submitted to emotional peaks and valleys, alternating for example between tense crescendos, delicate arpeggios and fierce distortions. After having garnered critical praise for Scars (debut self-released mini-lp almost sold out now)...
An amazing trip by the funk, the jazz and the brazilian music on their first record, "Paraíso Distante" (falcatruada 07). Bands like -123min, Zuco 103, Jamiroquai, F,T,M. or Red Hor Chili Peppers are some influences of the sound of Loretta Martin, a band whose music is defined as funk-rock styled, with all their lyrics in Galician language. 12 songs inviting to dance and to feel the funky style... But always opened to different ways and walking through the new experiences in music. .
