Yaël Naïm is a French-Israeli singer and songwriter. She was born in Paris in 1978 to Jewish-Tunisian parents. At the age of four, she moved with her family to Ramat HaSharon, Israel, where she learned Hebrew and trained as a pianist. She served in the Israel Defence Forces as a soloist in the Israeli Air Force Orchestra. Yael Deckelbaum (Songwriter and Vocalist ) was born in Jerusalem, Israel, in 1979 to an Israeli mother and a Canadian father. She grew up in a small village near the city. Her father, David Deckelbaum, a dentist and a banjo player, was a founding member of a folky, country, Celtic, good-time band, "The Jerusalem Taverners". He quickly recognized his daughter’s musical talent, and Yael has performed with her father’s band as a guest singer and musician throughout her entire childhood. Yael Meyer was born in Santiago, Chile and moved to the United States when she was nineteen. She studied classical piano from the age of five. Growing up she was also heavily influenced by indie folk music from the 70's and pop influences from the 80's and 90's. Her parents, both aficionado artists and musicians encouraged and nurtured her creativity and musicality.
