Alan Haven was one top organists during the 60's. He even appeared on the 'Top of the Pops' with only a drummer, Tony Crombie. Alan caused quite a stir by, not only playing playing his own bass on the pedals, but by actually starting his rendition of "It's a Hard Day's Night" with a statement of the tune on the bass pedals. Most organists played Hammond organ but Alan used the Lowery valve organ. Alan still gives the odd concert. He now lives in Spain. (2010)
Alan is a great jazzer with his own unique style. He has a tremendous 'feel'. He always surprises with his inventive phrasing and original chord substitutions. This corny track does not represent his considerable talent or the beautiful, dry tone of the valve Lowery. (It has been swamped with reverb.) His LP's are still available on ebay. .
