B R Oad Way | en

The creation of B R OAD WAY originally took place at La fabrique (an art research structure based in Andrézieux-Bouthéon, France) when Jan (laptop, sampler, effects) met Sixio (Turntables). Several nights of rehearsal saw their style evolve from electro-noise to something much more laid back, melodic and less aggressive. Coming across Fabb (voice) is another step for the band which he decides to join to add his pop voice over the music. Raize (Vdjay) then joins in too and brings his unique live video touch in parallel with the music.
B R OAD WAY’s line-up is based on a balance between its four members ; Jan lays the rhythmical and musical foundations of the compositions, Sixio remixes ambiance sounds, various noises and vinyls (e.g. by Air or The Stooges), and Raize (laptop and machines) elaborates the live video performance. Fabb then adds his hypnotic and somehow insistent voice to this atmosphere…

In the end of 2004, the band bonds with facto records and records the CD+DVD album 06:06 am.

06:06 am stands at the edge of several genres : this climatic atmosphere, as intriguing as sensual, at times recalling the tension of a David Lynch movie, is underlined by a both hypnotic and enthralling music between electronica and post-rock. Video constitutes one of the main elements of the group as it nostalgically recycles television archives in real time to create a universe of its own that perfectly fits with the music…
B R OAD WAY also like to meet people from different artistic horizons (music, video, danse, plastic arts, etc…) and share different kinds of experimental explorations (e.g. with Geometry of Murder - support gig for KK Null and ANP - or more recently with Angil ).
