HISTORY:
Brown Eyes consisted of two singers, Naul and Yoon Gun, whom were each previously in other groups prior to the formation of Brown Eyes. Naul was formerly the lead for the R&B group Anthem. Their success was very limited and they only released one album to little fanfare. On the other side, Yoon Gun was a part of the disbanded Hip-Hop group TEAM. TEAM had considerable more success than Anthem mainly due in part to the booming Hip-Hop movement taking place in Korea during the late 90's and early 2000's.

Brown Eyes quickly gained massive popularity with their debut song "Beolsseo Illyeon" and its accompanying music video in 2001. Their follow up song "With Coffee" was also very popular, further solidifying their status as instant stars.

Brown Eyes was also known for their then unique PR campaign, choosing to make very few public appearances and even going as far as to not starring in their own music videos. Instead they had actors and actresses take part in the filming, having each video be a mini-drama, similar to Jo Sung Mo's approach.

Their fresh talent, and popularity of their music, propelled them to be nominated to take part in the recording of the theme song for the 2002 World Cup held in Korea and Japan. The single "Let's Get Together Now" included the collaboration of fellow Korean R&B artist Park Jung Hyun as well as the participation of Japanese duo CHEMISTRY and solo artist Sowelu. Together they were coined as the Voices of Korea/Japan.

They released a follow up to their successful debut in late 2002 with the album Reason for Breathing?. They followed much of the same formula as their previous release, and continued to enjoy considerable success.

Their activities as a group came to a halt in 2003 as it was announced that Brown Eyes was now disbanding. Member Yoon Gun severed all ties with their current management company and promptly left the group. He announced his intentions to debut as a solo artist and did so in 2004.

On the other hand, Naul opted to stay with the current management and after a brief break, Brown Eyes was reformed with three additional members added to the group to fill in for the departed Yoon Gun. The new group debuted as Brown Eyed Soul. Naul also went on to later release a solo cover album.

After the release of a best album in 2007, the duo reunited in 2008 for the release of their third album Two Things Needed For The Same Purpose And 5 Objets. Part of the profits made with the album, which sold more than 100,000 copies, were donated to the relief organization World Vision.

As no more releases were made since then, is most likely to think that the duo officially disbanded in 2003 and they only reunited for the 2008 album release. .
