The first play acoustic sets as well as full electric sets. Their line-up ranges from the two front men to a whole five-piece band.

Chapter was born in 2004, as a side-project for recording veteran and multi-instrumentist Thierry van Osselt and erstwhile drummer for the successful band Tim Patience Watch, Alexander J.S. Craker, himself a multi-instrumentist and singer-songwriter.

Thierry has recorded, played or performed for numerous European bands, such as Honey for Petzi, Sinner DC, Shora, Knut, Time to Burn or Kruger to name but a very few. He’s also composed music for theater plays, movies and documentaries.

Alexander has played, toured or recorded with such artists as Vargas, Demilliac or Tim Patience Watch, as well as contributed to movie soundtracks.

Chapter’s self-produced first album, « One (Prologue) » was released in 2004. The band followed it up with a three-week long European tour, from Italy, through France, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany and back to Switzerland. Rough Trade Records then distributed the record in Northern Europe. The following musicians brought their contribution: Franco Casagrande (Dog Almond), Alex Müller (Equus), Vincent Haenggi (Equus) and David Mamie (Equus).

In 2008, the band also took part in the original soundtrack for the movie « La Mère » by Antoine Cattin and Pavel Kostomarov, which received numerous prizes around the world (Buenos Aires, St. Petersburg, Sevilla, Agadir, Nyon, Leipzig).

In 2009 Chapter recorded their third album, « Three (A Collection of Monsters) », to be released by Saiko Records in September 2010. In May 2010, the band also recorded the Chapter IV EP to be released on vinyl by Moi J’Connais records later in the year. Five Roses Press were called upon to promote the album throughout Europe and to organize a tour for October 2010 through the following countries : Germany, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, France and Switzerland.
