1) With more than 100 shows across Europe and USA, Checkmate has become a favorite on the new french metal scene without any label.

In 2012, Checkmate played in France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Hungary, Spain, and on the american East coast, in cities such as New-York, Philadelphia, Boston and many more.

Checkmate has just recorded their first album "Immanence", produced and mixed by Guyom Pavesi (Devianz, The Prestige) except the guitars recorded by Lucas d'Angelo (Betraying the Martyrs) and mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Whitechapel).

"Immanence" (out in 2013) switches between extreme power and aerial atmospheres. But it is above all an album built for the stage and that will undoubtly strike its listeners.

3) Checkmate (Vlad (vocals), Philippe G (guitar), Philippe P (drums)) was a punk band from Caen, Basse Normandie, France. They released the 7" "Only Fools Pretend to be Happy" in 1979 and broke up in 1981. The B-side "Week-End Bloody Week-End" also makes an appearance on volume 200 of the Killed by Death compilation series.
