Daniel Bukvich is currently Professor of Music at the Lionel Hampton School of Music, University of Idaho, Moscow, Idaho. Born and raised in Butte, Montana, he received his bachelor's degree in music education from Montana State University and a master's degree in composition from the University of Idaho. Upon completion of his master's degree, he was immediately offered a teaching position at the University of Idaho and has remained there since, enjoying a flourishing career in education and composition.

Dan's current teaching responsibilities include music theory, ear training, jazz theory, and a few private composition students. An accomplished percussionist, he also teaches private studies in percussion and directs a variety of ensembles at the University of Idaho. Although Bukvich is more widely recognized across the country for his contributions to contemporary wind-band literature, he has also written and arranged an extensive amount of choral music. He is in great demand throughout the country as a guest conductor for both choral and instrumental ensembles. Bukvich performs extensively as a free-lance percussionist in classical, contemporary, and jazz idioms as well. .
