Post-hardcore / screamo band from Nashville, TN formed from the ashes of Cease Upon The Capitol in 2008. Originally hailing from Murfreesboro, TN Dolcim's first line up was composed of guitarists Matt Strickland and Roy Batts (both of Cease Upon the Capitol), bassist Sean Conley(who had filled in on bass for Cease Upon the Capitol's last European tour) and drummer Justin Frazier. However, Batts left the band after the recording of their 2008 demo.

Dolcim played their first show in June 2008 with Legacies and Monoliths, releasing their first demo that night. For the next year, the band largely played in Murfreesboro and increasingly in Nashville, TN, becoming part of then burgeoning DIY hardcore scene centered around the now defunct Little Hamilton Collective. Durring this time, The band shared stages with Men As Trees, Mans, Oceola, and locals such as Karoshi, Dawn, and Sacaea.

In March of 2009, the band released their first LP Guillotine Rides on React With Protest. The band also appeared on a compilation from Open Water Records shortly before embarking on their first European tour with Me and Goliath. While on the road, The band performed with bands such as June Paik, Raein, Hammers, Battle of Wolf 359 and Resurectionists. The tour culminated with a performance at Cry Me a River 2009 and a headlining spot at Trashfest 14. Upon returning home, the band appeared for interviews on local college radio station WMTS and played the first night of Little Hamilton's Tesla Death Ray Fest in Nashville, as well as gigs with Nationale and Sleep Belum Sono.

Between hometown gigs, mostly at Nashville's Little Hamilton Collective, Dolcim began work on an ambitious second album, as well two split releases. The band would again share bills with Monoliths and Raein in late 2009. A cassette version of their first album was co-released by the Forever Escaping Boredom, Utarid-tapes, and Sleeping House record labels around this time.

In the summer of 2010, Dolcim again toured Europe, this time accompanied by Merkit. While on tour, they released their second album We Cary The Fire . A concept album that was to be accompanied by a large booklet and several multimedia extras, the album fell short of the band's initial vision. Internal conflicts and time constraints caused all the accompanying material to be scrapped. After returning from the 2010 tour, Dolcim played their final show in late July of 2010 with June Paik and Battle of Wolf 359. Their split with Hammers was released posthumously a month later. Sometime later, the four way split with Men as Trees, Le Pre Ou Je Suis Mort, and Dying in Motion was released.

After going there separate ways, Fraizer and Conley went on to other projects. Fraizer now plays in Altar Of Complaints while Conley has gone on to form Endamori as well as continuing his solo project Kafka on the Shore as well as running his Sleeping House Records label
