Singer and guitarist F. Materia and singer and bassist S. Martelli formed italian combo Filofobia in 1998 as students at their hometown Arezzo, bonding on the strength of their shared affinity for the music of the British Invasion era. A handful of demos followed before the duo recruited drummer V. Caruso in 2000, and with the addition of guitarist J. Ponticelli a year later, the lineup was complete. The members of Filofobia soon found they had one major influence in common, all four of them sharing a real passion for 60s pop, anything ranging from Pink Floyd to the Beatles, and for some indie bands that will later constitue an essential reference for their approach to music. In May 2001 the band hit it off immediately and shortly afterwards decided to go into the studio together to record a first demo tape, a sort of single containing two tracks and entirely financed by themselves. In July 2001 the band play at the Arezzo Wave Festival as local band for his first time. The following year Filofobia records some demo versions of their new songs. In 2003 the band is selected to participate to A.R.I.A. (Arezzo Rock Italian Academy) associed to Arezzo Wave and in july views himself for his second time on the stage of the italian festival. In august 2004 the band records his debut album “Entrée du port” with the artistical production of Giovanni Ferrario, one of the most importants italian indie producers (who has worked with the likes of Scisma, Estra, Snaporaz...) and with the techincal aim of Marco Tagliola and Gianluca Valdarnini. The record views also the appearance of some italians musicians like Pacho (Morgan) at percussions and Enrico Gabrielli (Mariposa, Marco Parente, Morgan) at clarinet. .
