Begun in 2003 Halcyon Daze is a band from Dublin, Ireland. Singer / guitarist Podge and drummer Jay formed the group while still in school. Realizing that music was their passion they left college to focus fulltime on Halycon Daze. Over the years other musicians have come and gone but the duo remain the group's core. In October of 2010 they added Daragh Kinch on bass.

Halcyon Daze originally played many Dublin clubs. They decided to do something different and began playing for free on the streets (busking). They began to build a solid following and a reputation as a great live act. Since then they have played venues in England, Scotland, at college balls, parks, flea markets and even a haunted castle. Halcyon Daze has built an international fan base extending across Europe and even to the United States.

Since 2003 the band's musical style has varied within an eclectic mix of psychedelic spacescapes, funk, rock, metal, folk, dance, surf, and country. Halycon Daze is known for improvised jams that defy description.

2011 has been a good year for the band. Early in the year Halycon Daze was filmed for an Australian tv broadcast showcasing undiscovered musicians from around the globe. In August they played their first festival at the reknowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

Halcyon Daze is signed to Wijat Records.

The albums "Tranquil Eyes....." "Polar Opposite" and "The Lights of the Soul" are NOT by the Irish band...... they are ambient dub and electronica albums by Halcyon Daze from Burton on Trent, England.
