Fatalistic NuDisco-Dub-Hop act KOSHOWKO is the musical brainchild of Polish born Martin K, philosopher turned music producer. Martin K has spent the last couple of years producing music videos, podcasts or working in close collaboration with various electronic and dance artists. These have included production and remixes for Disco Stu, Philosophy Of Sound, B(if)tek, Winduptoys, Tiatto and Valley Forge.

Over the last two years Koshowko has performed many gigs in Melbourne, Australia, including at Click Click, First Floor, Ding Dong as well as at festivals such as Fringe, Renaissance, Opoeia, Electundra and St Kilda Festival.

In December 2007 Koshowko toured in Germany promoting their debut EP ‘Anarchy Monarchy'.

‘Anarchy Monarchy’ received rave reviews in various street press and takes you on a journey from the extremely catchy ‘It’s Time Now’ to the cheeky disco-rock anthem ‘(Hu)mannequin’ to the retro electro infused ‘The Story’ to the dub influenced ‘Whispers’. The EP ends with a funky-analogue remix of ‘The Story’ by Nicole Skeltys, known for her work as a part of the femme-tech duos B(if)tek and Artificial.

In March 2009 Koshowko’s ‘The Story’ was selected out of over 15,500 entrants to become the finalist of The International Songwriting Competition. Koshowko also received a special mention in the Best Songwriter category in The Music Aid Song Contest and Music Awards in 2010.

Other releases by Koshowko include their debut single ‘Promise’ as well as material on several compilations incl. critically acclaimed ‘In Version: Dub Selections’. More of the Koshowko sound can be heard on their brilliant, collaborative effort ‘Switched On’, appearing as a duet on Winduptoys single and album ‘Double Exposure’.

Other composition credits include the soundtrack for the award-winning documentary ‘Revolving Door’, shown on TV in Australia and overseas after making the rounds at various film festivals on four continents.

In January 2009 Martin teamed up with Melbourne poet and filmmaker – Rupert Owen, which resulted in the song ‘Remix This’. Breaks laden 'Remix This' turns the tables on nightclubbing with a yearning to be mashed, mixed and moved to. In July 2010 the 'Remix This' video clip was selected out of 1000 entries to screen at the 5th ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival in Berlin. Zebra is a festival with a heavy weight line-up of poetry-in-film veterans, which made the news even more pleasing. The video has since been screened at other international events and festivals as well.

You can also look out for Koshowko’s stunning remixes of Disco Stu and B(if)tek featured on a collectible three-disc set 'Re Cognition: the Clan Analogue Legacy Collection', as well as the promotional single 'We Think You’re Dishy (Remix EP)'. Quoting the leading Australian newspaper ‘The Age’:‘this package is a must for fans and students of Australian electronic music alike’. Martin K has also produced a DVD package and documentary movie about the Clan Analogue collective called ‘Plug In & Switch On’. The DVD has been added as a bonus disc to the CD version of the ‘Re: Cognition’ album.
Martin K is also involved in a Podcast show called ‘Stanley vs Koshowko’ where presenters compete for the audience’s favourite record selector. It’s available for free on iTunes near you!

In September 2010 Koshowko released the new EP titled ‘The Truth In Me’. This seminal release explores a variety of musical styles, from nu-disco, trough dub to abstract hip-hop. Among 3 instrumentals there are also 2 vocal tracks: ‘Lose What We Have’ - touching on the transient aspect of life and the pain associated with the loss of loved ones and ‘Promise - Part 3’ - containing lyrics inspired by the Leonard Cohen’s poem democracy. The EP also contains the Philosophy Of Sound remix of ‘Switched On’ and closes with a nu-disco mix of ‘The Truth In Me’.
