Lindsey Woolsey are Elle Osborne and Melanie Wilson. They met in a hotel lobby in East London in 2004 and have been collaborating with voice, violin, and laptop loops since Autumn 2005. Lindsey Woolsey make music of idiosyncratic charm and curiously menacing edge.

Elle was born on the North Sea coast of Lincolnshire where she taught herself to sing and play the fiddle (and ride horses, although that’s another story). She was raised amongst musicians and wrote songs from an early age. She toured the world solo for five years, made a record called Testimony, then met Melanie and her laptop.

Melanie Wilson is a London based performer, writer and sound artist, known for a dark wit and highly controlled performance style. She has been making sound for performance since 2000, working as a solo artist and with long time collaborator Peter Arnold (with whom she is currently developing a utopian audio guide to a selection of British cities). Melanie is also an acclaimed actress, recently nominated for Best Actress in the Manchester Evening News theatre awards for her work with scottish theatre company, Boilerhouse.

Black Veined White is the duo's first release. They have collaborated with James Yorkston on 'Food' (additional vocals and piano) and with Saulius Chyamolonskas on 'My Son John' and 'I turn you turn' (additional sounds). .
