About:
Noctis are a 4 member progressive rock, death/doom band brought to life in the most isolated capital city in the world – Perth, Western Australia.

Founded by brothers Daniel and Ben Mazzarol (guitars & drums respectively) in 2005, the band eventually solidified their ranks with Alex Canion (Voyager) on Bass, Gavin Foo on guitars and Sam Terlick on Vocals and keys..

Shortly after the release of Noctis’s debit ep (For Futures Past), Gavin Foo was replaced with female guitarist Simone Dow (Voyager). The band played many live shows around Perth and became known for their tight and atmospheric performances. In mid 2008 the band saw the departure of vocalist Sam Terlick, which led Alex Canion to take over on lead vocals whilst still maintaining his role as bassist.

This shift in lineup allowed Noctis to thrive and further develop their songs and in Mid 2009 the band commenced recording their debut album “Silent Atonement”. With Daniel Mazzarol taking up recording, mixing and mastering of the album at his home studio “Amusia Studios” the album started to take its shape and quickly became the biggest undertaking the band had faced.

“Silent Atonement” features 14 tracks, two discs and over 100 minutes worth of music that showcases the bands ability to meld styles such as progressive rock, death/doom metal, acoustic, shoegaze and post rock.

Since the inception of the band, Noctis have become renowned for their tight and atmospheric live performances. The band has unified their respective influences and found their own sound within the melancholic metal niche
