East-European-Folk-Rock from Germany. Set in Berlin in the beginning of the 90ies, Mastermind Nikolai Tomás put his hungarian roots into a relaxed kind of Alternative-Rock. Lots of acoustic instruments, the voice of Tomás and his companion Melissa Lou and some kind of Punk-Polka gave the Band a special attitude. They released four Albums before they split. I Shot The Moon (the last one from this period) was produced by Phil Manzanera, of Roxy Music fame. Afterwards Tomás made his way to some Solo effort, but came back as Poems For Laila with the Album On A Wednesday in 2002. Then in 2004 the band released it's first Album with german lyrics - Fruehstueck in Budapest.

Poems for Laila are about to release a new CD in September 2007: "Klamm" features 8 new songs and some of the best but rare songs from the archives. .
