Formed in Glasgow in 2002, psychedelic folk lunatics The Pendulums consist of Mike Hastings (guitar & vocals), Lavinia Blackwall (vocals, organ, reed organ, harp), James Chapman (drums & trombone), Martin Beer (bass) and Solveig Askvik (fiddle). Influenced by the lysergic lunacy of The Incredible String Band, the surrealism of Ivor Cutler, and the moon-influenced wild creativity of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci amongst other things, the band's carefully crafted chaos has so far produced two recordings- 2006's Moon Mountain album and 2007's New World Nova EP. Both records were self-released by the band.
Famed for their annual Halloween concerts in Glasgow, and regular appearances at small country gatherings and festivals, the band have built up an appreciative fanbase amongst the weird and wonderful inhabitants of southern Scotland.
Former and irregular members of the band include original vocalist/synth guru Shaun Dowse (Listmaker, Voltergeist) and John Wilson aka Benbecula Records/Planet Mu artist Frog Pocket

The band are currently on a break as relocations and parenthood have temporarily shifted priorities, but who knows, when the moon is full and if you know where to look, you may find them out there, ready to fill your mind with their merry harmonious nonsense.
