At least 11 bands are named The Strollers:

1) A doo-wop group from New York. They are well known with their 1961-single 'Come On Over'.

2) An UK indie-rock band who changed their name into Dark Sparks.

3) An obscure Malaysian band who recorded only one psychedelic album in 1973 titled 'Waiting Is...'.

4) A Swedish garage revival band:

In 1992, three thirteen year olds started out playing Chuck Berry covers under the name Free Force. They soon changed personnel and became The Strollers. Before long they had built up a good reputation, playing 60s punk at dances and parties in their hometown rebro. Their main influence was US 60's garage music such as; The Music Machine, 13th Floor Elevators, The Seeds, The Sonics, The Wailers, Monks, Unrelated Segments, along with European (60's of course) acts - (Dutch) The Outsiders, Cuby & the Blizzards, (Swedish) Friends, Namelosers, Shanes, Tages, The Stringtones.
The intention was to play classic garagerock music the way they thought it should sound. This was more than just a fascination for 60's clothes & music, it was truely a way of life. Beeing laughed at in school and even beaten up at times didn't stop these boys, they were on a mission to seriously damage the eardrums on all the jocks and people that didn't see things their way. Though this kind of music wasn't happening at all during the early & mid 90's people couldn't dismiss the sincere & honest approach that they were puttin through. Summer -97 one of Low Impacts founding fathers stumbled upon a gang of street punks, begging him for money to by beer and hotdogs. As a result of this meeting The Strollers made their debut record which was a 7" EP. Another two track 7" (Bring Her Home/Stay Away) soon followed. Both these singels are now rare collectables among garage freaks worldwide. In April -99 the bands full length album "Falling Right Down" was released. 11 new originals recorded on equipment from the sixties to get the right sound. They played a lot all over Scandinavia and got established as a wild and energetic live act as well as infamous for their wild off-stage behaviour.
The Strollers recorded a second album, entitled "Captain Of My Ship" and did their first and last European tour before they decided to call it a day. .
