Nalva Aguiar (Nalva de Fátima Aguiar) nasceu em 1945, em Tupaciguara (MG). Ainda criança, descobriu a música. Na adolescência já se apresentava na rádio local. Com pouco mais de 20 anos, Nalva queria mais e partiu em busca de outros palcos em São Paulo. .
