EMERGENCE was formed in 1999 by by founding members Robert Holman (aka The Apostate) and Erik Kosnar (aka Vathan K) as an experimental gothic-rock/electro project. The duo soon enlisted the aid of Noel Johannes on keys, and spent a turbulent inaugural year trying out first one guitarist and then another, and then a third. Later that year Noel left the band to be replaced by a series of guest performers for the live act, while in the studio, The Apostate and Vathan formed the core creative unit in EMERGENCE. One of the most important Hungarian bands defining the early era alongside with Illés, Omega and such, formed in the late 50es. First they played jazz, but in 1964 they crossed over into beat music. They became the most influential session and support band in the country, helping many talents starting their career.
