A new project commissioned by Unsound and the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, The National Fanfare of Kadebostany represents an exciting meeting point between East and West Europe, electronic and acoustic instruments. Kadebostan is Swiss-based producer with releases on Freude Am Tanzen and Fenou, and has performed at past Unsound events, as well as clubs such as Watergate. Rational Diet is an acoustic chamber ensemble based in Minsk, with members in the Belarus Presidential Orchestra. They perform a mix of improvised, experimental and noise music, and have released on the Italian AltrTock label as well as the Polish label Audiotong....

Fanfare Ciocârlia is a popular twelve-piece Romani Balkan brass band from the northeastern Romanian village of Zece Prăjini. The band is made up of Roma musicians, and they are recognised as one of Europe's most popular contemporary Romani bands. Fanfare Ciocârlia are best known for a very fast, high-energy sound, with complex rhythms and high-speed, staccato clarinet, saxophone and trumpet solos, sometimes performed at more than 200 beats per minute. Fanfare Ciocârlia are also known for their arrangements of songs, including Born To Be Wild, James Bond Theme, Caravan, and Summertime.
